Terms of Use

How the writing, tools and downloads here may be used

Last updated: September 2026

Scope

These terms cover bsm3d.com and its sub-sections. Using the site means accepting them. The site is a personal and professional platform for sharing technical writing, tools and research; it is not a shop and nothing is sold here.

Articles and documentation

All articles, guides and documentation on this site are written by Benoît Saint-Moulin and remain his intellectual property. They are provided for educational purposes.

Tools, code and downloads

The software projects presented here - Spectra Workbench, BSM Tools, BSM Karma Builder and the open-source repositories - are each governed by their own licence, supplied with the project itself or stated in its repository. Spectra Workbench, for example, is released under the MIT licence. Where a project's licence differs from these terms, the project's licence takes precedence for that project.

Downloads are provided as-is. You are responsible for checking that what you download suits your setup, and for keeping backups of your own work before running any tool against it.

No warranty

Everything on this site is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Techniques, software versions and interfaces described in the articles change over time, and content that was accurate when written may become outdated. Nothing here is a guarantee of any particular result, and it remains your responsibility to test and validate anything before relying on it in production.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for any loss or damage arising from the use of this site, its content, or the tools linked from it.

Third-party names and trademarks

Software names and trademarks mentioned throughout this site - including Houdini, Karma and Solaris (SideFX), Unity, Unreal Engine (Epic Games), Blender, Terragen (Planetside Software), GAEA (QuadSpinner), USD and RenderMan (Pixar), Omniverse (NVIDIA), and others - belong to their respective owners. They are referred to descriptively, for technical discussion and education. No affiliation with or endorsement by these companies is implied, except where a collaboration is explicitly stated.

Third-party images and assets reproduced anywhere on this site remain the property of their authors and are credited where used.

This site links to external resources such as GitHub repositories, documentation, tutorials and other sites. Those destinations are not under this site's control, and no responsibility is taken for their content, availability or practices.

Availability and changes

The site is maintained personally and in addition to other work. It may be modified, reorganised or temporarily unavailable at any time, and articles may be revised, moved or withdrawn without notice. These terms may likewise be updated; the date at the top of this page reflects the latest version.

Applicable law

These terms are governed by Belgian law. For anything concerning personal data, see the Privacy Policy.
